Martin Bichsel was born in 1973. He is a freelance photographer who primarily works on editing. When not working on commissioned projects, he devotes his time to his artistic works, such as the long-term project Trans*Visit, Fremd-Kontakt (2016) and portraits of refugees in Bern, Switzerland. He is a member of the cross-disciplinary collective rueckenlage – music and visuals, which has generated the productions Reisefluss (2009), fLiegen (2010) and Haiku (2012). He learned his trade as a photographer through an autodidactic program at GaF. He has studied with, among others, Reto Camenisch, Heini Stucki, and Jürg Ramseier.
