Katharina Cranz was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in 1961. She studied art pedagogy, art history, and Latin American studies at the J.W. Goethe University in Frankfurt. Between 1985 and 1999, she lived and worked in England with her family. She currently works as a freelance lithographer and illustrator in Frankfurt and teaches illustration, etching, drawing, and visual communication at the Gutenberg school.
